Gary Contessa
Gary Contessa is a two-time leading trainer in the state of New York and has won ten training titles at New York tracks. He was born and raised on Long Island and received his education in the racing business from Jimmy Picou, Stanley Hough and Hall of Fame trainer Frank Martin working as their assistant trainer. He started his own public stable in 1985 and has been training in New York exclusively since 1994.Gary is very involved in the New York political scene and remains a strong supporter of Senator Bruno. Gary believes that the key to making this business better is through strong political connections and open communication with management. He works tirelessly as chairman of the State Racing and Wagering Board committee and is always available for anyone that needs his assistance. Gary maintains a breeding farm in upstate New York where he lives with his wife Jennifer, daughters Elizabeth and Caroline and sons Vincent, Joseph and Raymond. |
