NYTHA assists Backstretch workers by providing transportation for their families to and from Belmont and Saratoga. Most of these people do not have cars or the means to visit their families, from whom they are separated when the racing season moves upstate. This much appreciated service helps maintain a semblance of family life during the racing season.
